Q - Do I have to pay to use the trail?
A - No there are no fees to use the Trailway.

Q - What are the goals of the Elora Cataract Trailway Association (ECTA)?
A - The ECTA works to Protect, Improve, and Promote the Elora Cataract Trailway.

Q - If there are no fees, why buy a membership
A - As an all volunteer organization membership dues help support all our projects (see newsletters under “Member” section of our website for more details of our specific projects.

Q - Where can I park my vehicle?
A - See the “MAP” section of the website for Parking lot locations

Q - How can I become a member of the Elora Cataract Trailway Association?
A - Membership forms can be downloaded from our website under the “Members” section.

Q - Who owns the Trailway?
A - The Trailway is owned by The Grand River Conservation Authority (between Gerrie Rd in Elora to 6th line in Orton. From 6th Line in Orton to Cataract the Trailway is part of the Credit Valley Conservation.
Q - Are there Maps available for the Trailway?
A - There are several ways to get a map. You can download from our website under the “MAP: section. Maps are also generally available at the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce, The Elora BIA Office, Fergus, Aboyne, Elora, Hillsburgh and Erin Public Libraries, Wellington County Museum, Erin Town Hall.

Q- What is the Trailway surface like?
A - Being a former rail bed, the Trailway is mostly flat. The entire surface has been refinished with stone dust. See pictures under the “Gallery” section of the website, www.trailway.org.

Q - What are the distances between various points on the Trailway?
A - The downloadable Trailway map shows distances between major points.

Q - I want to see what the Trailway looks like. Where can I find pictures?
A - Pictures can be found under the”Gallery” section of our website www.trailway.org

Q - How can I submit pictures so they can be added to the ECTA Web-site galleries?
A - We are always on the lookout for pictures of the Trailway. You can email them to info@trailway.org.

Q - Are there campground close to the Trailway?
A - There are no campgrounds immediately off the Trailway. The Elora Gorge Park Campground (GRCA) is approx 5km from the Gerrie Rd trailhead in Elora. More details are available at www.grandriver.ca. There is also a commercial campground in Belwood called Highland Pines Campground that is located on Belwood Lake. There website is www.highlandpines.com.

Q - How can I contribute to the support of the Trailway?
A - Donations go toward paying for the various projects we undertake and are always welcomed. Donation forms can be downloaded from our website under the “Members” section.

Q – Can I get involved as a volunteer or on the board of directors?
A – We are always looking for volunteers and welcome new board members. Please email info@trailway.org.
