Hike the Trail Series 2010 Dates

· The Hike is open to anyone and is 6km and should take approx 1 ½ hours.
· All Hikes begin at 10AM except the July 11th “Flight of the Firefly” hike which will begin at 9PM.
· All Hikes begin at the Gerrie Road Entrance, Rain or Shine (Google Map Link)     LON: N 43o 41.594’   LAT: W080o 24.856’
· Take pictures during any of the hikes and send them to dsmith@wellington.ca, your picture may be chosen for the cover of the Centre Wellington Community Guide - Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter issue or in the next Trailway map. Plus, if you wish, you can have your pictures displayed on the trailway website.

Press Release: New Bench Program announced for the Elora Cataract Trailway

The Elora Cataract Trailway Association, in conjunction with the Grand River Conservation Authority, the Credit Valley Conservation Authority and six (6) local area Lions Clubs, are pleased to announce the official launch of Project B.O.O.T. (acronym for “Benches On Our Trail”).

“Hike the Trail”

Trails Open Ontario Family Hike Event

Oct 4th 10:00AM to Approx. 1PM

Two routes will be available:
1. Loop Trail on ECT Trailway and neighbouring trailways. 6.5KM
2. Wheelchair accessible route point to point and back on ECT and Trestle Bridge Trail. 5.6KM

Admission is FREE and donations to the food bank will be accepted.

This event will be part of Ontario Heritage Trust “Trail Open Ontario”.
We have also partnered with “in motion” as the kick off event to a weeklong schedule of fitness related activities.
The walk is also a part of the new 11-day event-filled Festival called Sensational Elora “A Festival of the senses” running from October 2nd to October 13th.
Finally we would like to thank Wellington Dufferin Guelph Health Unit for their support of this event.

FAIR IN THE SQUARE

The ECTA will have a table top display to promote the Trailway and memberships in the Trailway Association

GRCA Arborist Walk along the Trailway

The Elora Cataract Trailway Association is planning to walk a section of the Elora Cataract Trailway with a GRCA Arborist.
The purpose is to review tree planting practices for the Trailway and point out what and where we should be planting or not planting.
We hope you will join us for this event.

When: June 12th @ 7PM
Where: Beatty Line Parking lot Pavilion (across from Fergus Auto Parts)
How long: We expect the walk to last 60-90 minutes
